How billing works

When you sign up you pick a plan and your card is charged that day — your subscription is active immediately, with full plan access from day one (no trial period). Founding customers get 30% off their first 3 months.

Your inbox warms over the first few weeks; your first campaign goes live the moment it is warm, typically in about 21 to 30 days. Our promise: warm and sending within 30 days, or your next month is on us — backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee (one click in Settings → Billing). There is no free Starter plan — Defrost doesn't offer a perpetual free tier because every researched lead has real per-lead costs (LLM tokens, enrichment, verification, warmup).

Founding 100

The first 100 paying customers get a permanent 30% discount on whatever plan they pick. The Founding 100 badge stays with you forever. Settings → Billing shows your slot number.

Adding a payment method

Settings → Billing → Add payment method. Defrost uses Stripe; we never see your card number.

You can also add a backup payment method that Stripe will charge if the primary fails (recommended for higher-tier plans).

Upgrading or downgrading

Settings → Billing → Change plan. Upgrades take effect immediately and are pro-rated. Downgrades take effect at your next billing cycle to avoid surprise loss-of-features mid-month.

If a downgrade would push you over your new plan's caps (e.g., Scale → Growth and you have 5 mailboxes), Defrost asks you to remove the excess before the downgrade completes.

Cancellation

Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription. You keep access until the end of your current billing period.

After cancellation, your data is retained for the standard retention window described in our DPA, then permanently deleted. If you reactivate within that window you keep your campaigns, leads, ICP, and mailbox configuration.

Add-ons

Higher-volume customers can purchase:

  • Extra mailbox — $59/mo per mailbox above your plan cap
  • Dedicated IP — $99/mo for a Resend-managed dedicated IP, best for higher-volume senders
  • Extra workspace — $199/mo per additional workspace above your plan cap

Add-ons are managed at Settings → Billing → Add-ons. They appear once the deployment has Stripe add-on Price IDs configured; if your workspace shows "Add-ons not configured", contact your admin.
